Cech - Experience will tell
Keeper says Chelsea have edge over Spurs in top-four fight
Petr Cech believes Chelsea have an advantage over Tottenham in the battle for a top-four finish because they have been through similar situations before.
It looks set to be a tight finish in the race for UEFA Champions League qualification as the Blues vie for supremacy with London rivals Spurs and Arsenal.
An important week lies ahead for Chelsea with a visit to Manchester City on Wednesday to be followed by a home clash with Tottenham three days later.
Roberto Di Matteo's side currently trail Harry Redknapp's men by four points but Cech remains confident of overhauling them before the end of the season.
Chelsea have been regular title challengers in recent years and have grown accustomed to playing in Europe, while Tottenham have only once made it through to the Champions League.
Asked if he feels his side have an advantage over Spurs, Cech said in the London Evening Standard: "I think yes.
"We have been together through so many situations in eight years and a lot of people here remember those, so we have the benefit of the experience of that.
"We seem to cope with the difficult situations quite well so, hopefully, this experience we've got throughout the years will help us reach our targets.
"We are approaching these next two games with confidence now. In football everything changes with positive results."
