Would Lampard be best played in an out and out strikers role?

My thinking is that his shooting from long range is almost on target so bring him closer to the goal and he will be on target? He also won't have to move as much as, being a big lad, he sometimes struggles with motion. Your thoughts...

McClaren's is Lampard. Despite consistent poor performances he still insists on selecting him. It will not change.

McClaren even said, after the Brazil game, that Lampard answered his critics with his performance! He certainly did! He proved he was rubbish at international level.
