i know this is almost exactly the same as wnnrssn's, i saw his saha wall and really liked it but im not a manu utd fan, i was going to ask wnnrssn if he would make me a shefield wednesday one but he is normally busy with requests so i decided to make it myself

mainly posting it for any other wednesday fans on here who might want it but i would appreciate some comments on the quality of the work because it took a while when i was making it from wnnrssn's jpeg

so you actually copied it from his jpg? Jesus. So did u actually ask him to make you one or was it just a crap prediction? Youve couldve waited for him to be free from requests, i am sure u could be paitent.

Everyone has creative inspirations - maybe other artists, advertisements, etc. etc. swfc990 has clearly admitted that he has copied Wnnrssn's wall and has posted this so that other Wednesday fans can download it. I don't find that wrong! If he copied the style, went to some other forum and claimed the style to be his own, then thats wrong, not this.

This is ok and he has specifically asked us to comment on the quality of the work, and not on the idea/design/template.

And the quality of the 'emulation' is pretty good.

I'll go and copy someones style and admit that too. Makes no difference mate. Anyone can say that! Still wrong.
I post a Wall so others can download, makes no freaking different to what he does.

well i am not happy at all at this,but hey,at least he admitted that he used my wall etc.Of course i am on the position that copying style is bad,using techniques - ok.I hope that's a single try at my wall from you swfc.

Anyway,it looks not so bad,although it's a copy.

The bit about him not asking Wnnrssn and assuming that he would say no is wrong. Sure.

But taking inspiration from someone else's work (and giving them credit for it) isn't wrong. If it is wrong, then was Wnnrssn wrong in trying to emulate Ste's lighting technique -

"i guess i have to say thanks to Ste for the lighting technique,don't know if it's the same or not" (quoting Wnnrssn)..

Was Niran wrong in taking inspiration from Wirestyle's work while designing his 'disintegration' series?

And fine, if you aren't going to change your stance, then be it. But there's nothing wrong if i want to express my opinion, the same way you expressed yours. In fact, thats the whole point of web-forums.

And if you want to say "Wnnrssn was wrong" say it to me in person,not to someone who is protecting the position of himself.And if you see,in the reply i posted i said "At least he admitted he used my wall",so i 'forgive' him.
And when accusing me of using a TECHNIQUE,then try to make the difference between TECHNIQUE and STYLE.

I see you're starting something like quarrel here, please guys, don't!
I know I am quite new here, but trying to be useful and make new friends, so I'd like to say what I think about the thing you are arguing for - I believe that one should be flattered that someone else is trying to be as good as him. Aren't we all here to study from one another and share our experience with each other? Besides, Swfc990 has admitted this isn't his own style, but one he admires and he appreciates..and more, he is asking if he had done it well, because he wants to get better and better, and there's no better way to do that oder asking his teacher (though not litterally "teacher", if you get what I mean).
The guy didn't want to be insolent, he didn't say "he was going to say "NO", he just assumed Wnnrssn hadn't much time to do his request! For instance I wouldn't bother him all the time to make me some things, it's quite annoying sometimes. Well, Swfc990 could have asked if he's allowed to copy the style, but..that's not such a big problem, he had done that afterwards..better late than never, right?
Don't judge the guy so harsh, everyone can make mistakes!
