So John Terry has been named England captain, thoughts?

Personally I really didn't want him to be given it again, but I thought he would get it. He didn't excel in his role as Captain under McClaren but then again what did excel under McClaren? My main problem with Terry is I don't think he performs consistently enough for England, he's had his fair share of bad games for England and I can't really think of too many "great" ones.

I'd of went for either Rio or Gerrard. Rio because he lead United faultlessly through large parts of last season and he's probably the most consistent performer in the country. Gerrard because giving him the armband might actually get him to put a bit of effort in.

That said I really don't think it matters all that much. Captains are important but in the current England squad you could of give it to any one of the 3 and it wouldn't of really made a difference. I was hoping to see Terry have to fight for his place to maybe get him to up his game for England but now his place is guaranteed but there you go.

Capello make a mistake again. He should not assign Terry as England captain. Some his perfomance in Premier League are going down. We can look how fool is his penalty in Champions League Final. I think Ferdinand are capable to become a captain for England. After Beckham, I think Ferdinad have the great influence in England team.

terry is definitely the best choice. he is better than rio .he surely deserves the captaincy

I said he doesnt deserve to be England captai. He cannot give influence to the team. I think he could be the Chelsea tam cptain only. I still in my stand Gerrar and Ferdinand.

John Terry cannot be an England cCaptain For now. I deserve Rio Ferdiand than him. Terry can't staabilyze his emosy when the game come for the higher standard. Look at Ferdinand, He is cool and strong defence, still relax and can give spirit for all. This is all need for the captain for the nation.
