Ipswich Town manager Jim Magilton has confirmed his interest in signing the former Newcastle United winger Laurent Robert.
The 32-year-old ex-France international is a free agent after leaving Levante and also had brief spells with Portsmouth and Benfica after leaving St James' Park in the summer of 2005.
Magilton said: "If Laurent Robert was available I'd encourage him to come to the club so we can look at him. He's someone we know has all the qualities we like.
"There's a possibility that we can take him in and it will be down to Robert if he wants to come and be part of this club."
Ipswich Town can be a great team if they plus one experience player like Laurent Robert. But what I can see Laurent Robert are a little bit slower than before because of his age. By the way, I;m still with my stand that one player cannot give a team win. But a team give a win to team.
laurent Robert is too old to play. he must retired like Alan shearer and make the way to be a coach and become the manager. It is good to see him conduct one team like Paul Ince done.
