I was in the pub last night (surprise surprise) and was asked a question about the Olympic Football.

Do they play the national anthems before the game like in Internationals? Or only at the medal ceremony?

I couldn't answer him, as I haven't seen much of the football, so I was scuppered, any ideas?

As I know, in olympics there was no National Anthem sing before the game. After the medal ceremony,the National Anthem was sang so, in my mind , there was no national anthem sing before the game. Is it weird for you?For me, it is no weird on that.

guess they play the anthem only in the medal ceremony. It is only in the world cups that the anthems are played before the start of a match.

World cup , Euro Cup, asian Cup, African Cup,. All of them sang anthems before the match.
