Default Judging the potential of your youth players.

What is the best way of assessing youth players? How can you judge whether it is worth keeping them on and how their attributes will change time?

Physical attributes are important. Someone without pace acceleration stamina, or strength will probably not be able to play at the highest levels. If they have decent athleticism and have better than average starting stats (for their age) for the postion they play, they will probably be of some worth.

When newgens are promoted from the academy, they all say "promising striker", "promising winger" and so on. Not all of them are that great, however.

If you have good youth training, ideally 7-stars per training routine, you should see your youngsters improve their stats. Having established players tutor them also helps, especially on things like Determination.

As Fire Bracelet says, high physical stats from the outset are good.

And finally, since they aren't being paid much, you can keep them for a couple of years, find out which clubs are interested, which will indicate at what level they're likely to be.
