In preferences there is a section called 'Extra Files'. My question is do I need all of them ticked?

Alliteration Adjectives will mean that in news headlines you will see headlines such as Super Scott!, or Amazing Adams!, rather than more boring headlines.
French League Names puts in the correct names of the French leagues.
Make me Chairman means that if you have created the relevant file, you can have a chairman with a name you have specified take over a club you have specified.
I'm not sure about the other two.

I'd say you can untick Make Me Chairman, unless you've created the relevant file. If you don't want French League names or exciting headlines you can untick the first two as well. And I think you can untick the Team Holland unless you're going to manage Holland. TBH, you can get away without any of them ticked - they're just to enhance the game a bit.
