Hi, recently downloaded FM2008 strawberry demo.

I like it and want to buy the full game. Can I take my current game from the demo version to the full blown version?

Yes, but there is a small chance you may experience some of the anti-piracy measures, for example minor nations winning the World Cup. Just to be safe, I'd start a new game, but your demo one can be continued.
When you do buy the game, you can patch it up to the latest version: download here.
