I have to include 2 homegrown U20-players in my match squad as I'm playing in the Russian league and since I only have one good homegrown youngster I pick my youth keeper in the bench for every game.

So far, I've not a 'keeper sent off or get injured during a match. And that's after two seasons.

Makes me wonder if it's worth bothering with a substitute 'keeper. But I think I will, for the time being.

Best to, just in case because as soon as you don't.... well you know where i'm going with that.

I think i've had one keeper sent off in ten years of CM/FM. Injuries happen now and then though.

Historically I've always named a keeper, can see the merits in not selecting when using 5 subs, but I always like to play it safe.

I always have a keeper on the bench, even when only 5 subs are allowed.

I played as Hibs in the SPL recently too, I'm pretty sure you had to have a keeper on the bench (and 3 under 21 year olds in the match squad) for the league games.

I always have a keeper on the bench.

As most competitions allow three changes and a minimum of five substitutes are allowed on the bench, I see little point in risking not having a good backup available for one of the most important parts of my team.
