I've been blundering along (and doing quite well i might add) but not been bothered with staff etc.

My question is, What attributes are important for each staff role??? ie fitness coach / 1st team coach / asst manager / etc

Some people swear by taking them as a whole and treating them as if they are like their real life counterparts. So they look at things like discipline, motivation etc.

Me I don't believe it's that complex and just look at star ratings, a guide for which can be found in the faq at the top of the Tactics and Training forum.

Assistants is the one where it depends one what you are going to use him for:-

1. As a failsafe when signing players => good judging abilities, current and potential

2. to do your teamtalks => high motivation (some say determination and man management but I'm not convinced)

3. for a specific training role => star ratings to suit

4. to manage your reserve and youth teams => working with youngsters (as with the others no one is certain that this matters for anything other than training)

5. to help you in judging your squad and picking your team => good judging current ability

^WHS The assman needs to be the good all-rounder. The coaches need to be specialists in their technical jobs.

Eg. - fitness coach needs the best fitness attribute only. GK coach for GK, one for tactics - other attributes aren't important.

You don't need specific 1st team, fitness or gk coaches anyway, just ones who do the best job.
