Okay this is jokey rant but a rant all the same.
The game cheats. Sort of .I wish I still had the game to post it but the first time
in fm I hit the reset button.
Okay, so Perugia v Torino and im drawing 0-0. 83rd minute and
Torino get an indirect free kick. Fair enough. Then the torino player, 30 yards out, runs up and kicks the ball about 5 yards and stops. So do all my players probably all laughing at this weak attempt.
But wait what’s this the same player thinks sod that I wont another go and duly obliges and
smacks it top left hand corner.(GOAL) flash, flash, flash!!! What a finish mate but you can’t kick it twice…. Or can you??
So there I am sitting there shouting at the imaginary ref everything I can possibly can about what a load of rubbish (better not say what I really shouted or might get a yellow card!) as my players trudge back to the halfway line.
Or is this SI way of representing match fixing in Italy cause no matter how much I shouted he’s hit the ball twice ref or tried to get the linesman’s attention neither seemed bothered.
I’m sure I could see a brown envelope in the refs back pocket!!!
Or is it just one of those damn bugs playing tricks again?
Never seen it before or heard about anything like it before. Probably best to mention it in the bugs forum as well, just in case it hasn't been noticed and appears in 09.
Ever since the early days of the Atari, the CPU has always cheated. While it sucks, and is at times frustrating, there's nothing you can do about it. Just accept that the CPU will always cheat and have fun with it.

That's not true. The CPU does not cheat. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Well we'll just have to agree to disagree on that one.
BTW, I wasn't just talking about FM, but video games in general. They all cheat at one time or another.

Got to be honest, I always thought that and especially when it came to the likes of Silent Hill and MGS, where I thought you die just to entice you even more and get you addicted. If we are all totally honest it's just that we aren't very good, because my mates flew through it and never mentioned cheating etc.

Well that's also been a known fact, that I suck harcore at most games I play. FM 2008 is no exception to that.
I could be a lot better if I sat around and played games all day every day, but with a house and other bills to pay, and a full time job, combined with a short attention span (damn my adult ADD!), means I have to settle for playing a few hours in the evenings, and therefore sucking forevermore.
I have had this issue, was in my favour though. My winger was running along two opposition players closed with him, one of them tackled him i think. The ball bounced out a few yards and the tackler rejoined his mate a short distance from my player. About five seconds later my player, who hadn't moved at all since the tackle, walks over to the ball and continues his run. Bloody random.

Lucky for some. I spend more time on these forums (9-5 rather than work) than I do playing the game (30 mins a night once daughter is asleep and Corrie has started)
