In 10 years plus of playing CM and then FM, 08 is easily the worst iteration. Yes, it's packed with lovely features, but as countless others have said, it's broken. I've simply lost count of the matches where my world class strikers have mustered 20-25 shots and scored 0 or 1, against the oppositions 5 or 6 shots, scoring 2 or 3. Yes, this happens in the real world and occasionally in other versions. It doesn't happen anywhere near as often as it happens in FM08.

yeah i know what you mean, its got some really great new feature but there are just too many negatives about it. So i have gone back to fm 07 and having much more fun

A new patch will not happen..

Every version of the game had its faults and issues, this version is no different.
With the latest patch the game is very much playable and it don’t require a new patch and i am 100% sure there will be no further patches as SI will be very busy working on FM09..

As for your problems, you said it pretty much as it happens in real life, teams will sit back defend and with one chance score..

Your best bet would be to spend some time on your tactics, including set pieces, trying different formations and concentrating on team talks. As this will help you get results.
The more hard work you put into it the more success you would have...
