its world cup 2010 and Fernando Torres has just suffered a fractured skull. 2 days later i get news that Puyol is suffering from a "serious viral infection" Torres is out for around 3 months. How long can i expect my captain to be out for as it just says "awaiting treatment for serious viral infection"

I've seen examples of it approaching 2 years on previous CM/FM. Not sure if it's quite so drastic now.

the injury status has just updated and its around 6 months. What IS a serious viral infection? is it based on that thing Markus Babbel had years ago?

That's it exactly. I can't remember which version it was but he was injured for 2 years in the game and real life.

Its a LONG time for Viral infections. Unlucky on that. 3 months for a fractured skull though, pretty long.

Morten Wieghorst also had a very serious brain infection that could easily have taken his life when at Celtic. I wouldn't even attempt to spell it. There things can last a very long time.

Chris Burke collapsed playing for Rangers against Aberdeen on the first day of the season and missed the rest of it.

From other people's examples, it will be a while anyway.
