Niall Quinn was a rarely intelligent footballer though. Footballers randomly becoming chairmen in game will generally result in some ludicrous appointments in that case!

What strikes me as strange about it is that there aren't that many Chairmen who were previously footballers IRL so why is it even included in the game? I understand a manager e.g. SAF one day becoming Chairman or something high up in a club, but I don't think footballers would have as much inclination to become a Chairman as they do to become a manager or coach.

An 18 year old regen on my game retired, and on the message telling me he'd retired it said on the side he was a chairman and aged 35.

I have noticed on my game that Maldini, Van Der Sar & Ljungberg have become chairman. Bit disappointed that Maldini did because usually I appoint him as my assistant manager when he retires in the game.

This chairman lark is definitely something SI should take out of the game

Players will only consider a figure-head role with a consortium taking over a club if they have decided not to take any other non-playing role upon their retirement.

In real life our chairman (coventry city) Ray Ranson is an ex-footballer. As is the chairman of Sunderland as someone above mentioned.

Ald man Lorimer took over as Chairman of Leeds after they went bankrupt again in my game. I see so many names just popping up that I didn't know were even in the game!!

so players become chairmen do they just turn up or can they only do it if a consortium takes over.
