| Oh it must be true then if you remember it! Everyone seems to rememebr it, but no one seems to be able to prove it. I dont recall it being confirmed, not bothered either way, but find it difficult to believe SI would put such feature in the game. </BLOCKQUOTE>
It is definitely in the game.
There were a few threads confirming it a while ago but I think they all went in the recent clearout. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Probably still wont believe it......
I love the 'son' feature. Despite only getting 1 in about 140 seasons since the feature was introduced. (And even he was questionable, since I wasn't in his fave person list until 2 days after he was generated), I still think its a brilliant idea. </BLOCKQUOTE>
Why is it a brilliant feature?

just gives you a regen that you'd pay special attention to really, cool little easter egg.
just an opinion though, everyone plays for different reasons. youth development is always cool for me, picking out young players and seeing if they turn into world beaters, so it's all in what you look for in the game.

Firstly, I didn't claim it was a brilliant feature, I said its a brilliant idea. Secondly, because it gives you another medium of evolving with the game, rather than leadenly playing it with no passion. It adds a very unique dimension, and makes me genuinely happy when (if) my son makes it into the game.

imagine if a real manager who has a son in real life (eg. the kranjcars) was given a regen son in the game. that would be funny. would they give priority to their real son or the regen one?!

| Brilliant feature/idea - same thing. You think its brilliant because you get to watch a regen and pretend it's your kid - which is fair enough. What happens if, as is likely the case, the regen is crap? will you still put him in your team? will you continue to 'monitor his career'? Most likely answer is no, so the one in a million time it does generate your son, chances are he will be crap and you wontbother even doing anything. How is that enabling you to 'evolve with the game'?
Tacky idea that sounds like it came from the brains of a 15 year old kid. Don't know why it was put into the game, if it was indeed. What other easter eggs would you like to see then? the ability to become a chairman?
Dont answer that btw, because I cant believe I've already wasted this much time on such a silly topic, its not even making me laugh anymore.

just gives a little reason to follow a player you otherwise wouldn't. i already sent mine off to a feeder club in russia as punishment for most likely not being my son (not sharing my last name and being of a different ethnicity are hints), but i plan on following his career despite him already looking like he's not going to measure up to my standards.
don't see why it's worth getting mad about, chances are you'll never see it anyways since it's so rare.

For those of us who would monitor his career it's a great feature, for those of you who wouldn't it won't affect your game at all. For such a non intrusive feature I'm surprised it has stirred such a debate.
Personally I would love to have a son appear in the game, it would give me a new thing to keep track on in my game.

Firstly, I'm fully against the Chairman idea.
Secondly, Idea / Feature are two completely separate entities, and to compare them as "the same thing" is stupid.
Thirdly, regards to Quote: |

| Actually, most like the answer is yes. Youth Player Project
If you care to read the post 7th from bottom of the page, (and indeed the bottom post, on the same subject but from a different user and a little less informed) - you will see that the career of youth players plays a massive part in my game. So please don't assume anything before you know.

Im not quite sure how to use quotes, but to Pio, i think you can get players with the same nationallity as you come through as i saw on a post that someone had Hong Kong as there nationallity and occassionally got Hong Kongnese players come through his ranks. He managed in Australia.
And i think that if you son does come through you should get an e-mail on the game saying your son has come through.

Also, most of my regens are crap so i let their contracts run down to see if they improve. when they leave i still monitor their progress, like a new club or whatever, most retire though.
