Hi managers
I came here to solve a problema that I got, maybe some other managers have too.
As I got tired from playing with Arsenal, and Bayern, I wanted to play with a underdog team.
Then I started a game with AS Monaco, wich team is quite weaker compared to Lyon or Marseille , for example.
I found that I can't match my players with most opponent teams, and the only way I can win is defending well and counter attacking my opponents.
Here's the question: What's the best tactic to Counter, should I aim behind defense line, ?
- mentality on first notch that says "defensive"
- line on first notch that says "deep"
- high closing down (will vary this)
- wingers making runs to the bylive
- focus passing down the wings
Obviously that's just a summary but I find something along those lines generally works pretty well.
Okay, this might get closed and/or moved to the good tactics forum. But in the meantime:
I use a DMC in a 4-3-3 with farrows from the AML and AMR to the ST position next to the ST. The ST should be strong and good in the air. Attacking mentality, short passing, counter-attack ticked. I change that to direct passing, normal mentality when the rain is heavy.

Do you not find you come off conceeding goals or with hardly any possession? Just you seem to be inviting a lot of pressure there, and witha weaker team playing against a big team I can't see how you could control them when you are basically playing them on their terms.
Just a question as I am trying to move away from counter attack as I conceed far too many goals and scrape through too many matches - it's not good for my hair line!
