did you sell players immediately and buy new ones? or was it more about coaches/ schedules/tactice? I have been trying for about 5 new games and never managed it!

I only signed afew players, all you really need is a goalscorer. I played ugly and dull football.
Hope that helps

sounds good to me, have always looked for a new striker, one season i even managed to bag Roberto Saldado from Real Madrid on a season long lone!
By ugly and dull, do you mean defensive with counter attack, long ball stuff? I don't mean to just "get all the answers", i am trying to learn from better managers (as in real life)

Yes - by defensive, counter attack, slow paced and hoof style football. Always help if your striker are tall and can head the ball

I kept them up (just) with the very squad I started with (correct up to end of January's window) on FM07.
Decided to try without signing any players, which I often do with lots of Premiership teams, and survived on the final day.

Derby were quite easy to keep in the
prem when I played, Villa ( 18 goals ) and Robert ( 24 assists ) were quite amazing. The next season however . . . .
