Perhaps he hasn't been able to find a club team? In one of my old games, Freddy Adu retired when he was 18 or something. I think if a player can't find a club for a year or so (not sure of the actual time) he will retire.
Whats ironic is that in my current game, Adu was bought by Liverpool for 45 million :eek:

The highest transfer in my game is Rossina(sp?) from italy who cost Chelsea 40 mill.

Adu is good but not that good!!

It happens quite often, and usually with players from asian or african countries. They decide to retire either because they havent found a club or because they just want to.

I noticed it mainly when conducting a PA experiment using genie scout, I found a Korean LW with 198 PA, but when I tried to sign him he was retiring. He had been in the game for 4 years and hadn't found a club yet, so it was udnerstandable. Perhaps he decided to go and study Sports Science instead.

Ha, I was using it for a PA against attributes experiment. I have used it in the past, but you're right the save game feels dirty and tarnished afterwards.

It takes away the magic of the game for me and remindes me that this is actualy a program goverend by rules and (albe it complex) equasions , makes me feel I'm right that the game is designed to make you lose
