Default Football Manager 2009: Contracts and Job Offers

This is an idea that I thought would make the game more realistic. I just thought if you are being touted up for other jobs or offered a job then you could use this as a weapon to get a better contract from your current board. An example would be if you manager a club like Bristol Rovers and get them into the Championship you would get notice by Premier League clubs like Middlesbough, Fulham or Bolton and may offer you the manager's job. You could use this to get a better contract from Bristol Rovers.

In the game you can only ask for a new contract when there is only 3 or 4 months left on the old contract.

Yeah but for what reason? If you do well you will almost certainly get a new contract at end of the contract if you want to stay and obviously in real life you would love more money but on game its just sort of pointless.

I wish they had an option to accept lower wages cause I dont see the point in me being paid heaps and every year going up alot. Doesnt it affect the balance of the club anyways?

If you do well enough you will get offered a new contract in advance. I usually get offered at least a year in advance, and don't need to ask for it.
