I was real madrid and using live editor I gave myself 1.5billion. I was offering players contracts of 1-3million pound a week. I then installed the latest patch and not long after I suddenly noticed I was only able to offer players a max of around 135,000. That sucks if it did add a wage cap and that just spoils my fun lol.

uh, probably you were getting near your wage budget or your board had a breath-intake moment when they looked more closely at the contracts you'd been offering.

i don't understand though, if I have the funds to cover it, what is the problem.

well, you still have a wage budget to stick to - if the club has money, it is going to want to keep it (and pay off its spliffing huge debt).
