Try getting Cwmbran into the Football League. It's akin to winning the Champions' League with River Plate.

I thought teams outside the FL were unplayable - therefore, how does one take them there? with an editor?

Nah, the Football League is League 2 to The Championship. Below that is the Conference Leagues, above that the EPL, all of which are considered different.
