I dont know why I stay with Rochdale, there is very little ambition from the board, and as soon as I experience my first bad result of a season they forget the back to back promotions and two cups I brought them. bloody ingrates! it's contract renewal time again though and they've come through again. Do i sign up for another year of torment or jump ship? (the fact I have negotiated down to sign only a 12 month contract for the last 2 years perhaps says something about my uncertainty at the club)

I think my reputation has suffered, as QPR sacked their new manager after only 6 months. I applied on the sly and got turned down. So maybe my dismal season has cost me, or maybe they just didnt want me dragging the contract process out again only to turn them down! (I wanted it this time!)

In my experience it always pays to stick with the job you've got, only leaving when its to move up or because its P45 time. I never like resigning just because you don't feel you can take the team any further. Not all management jobs revolve around promotions and relegations every year... particularly not Rochdale! They've been in the same division for what is it now, 34 years?

I wish I remembered that last night. I left L2 promotion chasing Hereford for L1 relegation threatened Watford with the promise of big money, needless to say things havn't quite worked out as planned.
