Is there any plans to include a feature via a patch whereby you can actually play a game with your friends over xbox live, and i mean a proper game and not the one off tourney's, a full multi player game where you can each pick a team and start a career? i assume this is in the works in order to avoid the clear false advertising issue that is in place at the moment?. If i buy something i am told has all the feature of the pc version then i dont think it's too much to ask for it to have evry feature of the pc version.
i realise im moaning but im pretty upset about this issue and if there is no plan to include it i will return the game, i already own the pc version but bought the 360 version specifically so i could play a friend over xbox live as he doesnt have a pc, at the moment it's 40 quid wasted.
I always thought that the online modes were trimmed due to X Box Live limitations and so didn't expect one with '08 either, but it seems such a big idea/feature as full player leagues may indeed be possible then. I'll quote SI's Miles from the 'xbox live' thread that should provide some answer at least:
"We have always clearly stated that the 360 version has different online modes to the PC and Mac game - the last 2 versions on 360 were the same.
The PC online experience would not work with the Xbox Live system, as you can't save "Live" games in the same way as you can save PC/Mac games. Therefore we have special Live Arcade online modes."
thanks for the reply m8, i didnt see that before i posted but have seen a couple of posts that state they are identical, maybe they meant in everything but the online features, ahh well back to game for me i suppose
I have heard the Xbox 360 version has a fantasy draft mode online, is this true and what is it like. Can you draft from anyone or are you limited by money. Will it be a league or a tournament? Is it one shot or can you save and come back on later?
The Xbox 360 version of the game loses nothing that the PC version includes, bringing the best-selling and critically acclaimed Football Manager series in all its depth to console gamers everywhere. With new features such as improved international management, new confidence feedback from the board and fans and much more, Football Manager 2008 has been a big success on the PC scoring an all formats No.1.
As well as not losing any of the features of the PC version, Football Manager 2008 on the Xbox 360 includes exclusive Xbox LIVE features enabling managers to play tournaments online against other players. Also for the first time Football Manager does not require the Xbox 360 hard drive, meaning that even players with the Core system can now enjoy Football Manager on their console.
These parts in bold aren't strictly true are they? If you can't play the same online modes - then it is clearly losing something the PC version possesses?!
