Guess they had time to put april fools jokes into the game aswell, as just reached 1st april 2008 in game and had this message:

In a display of incredible generosity, the River board have decided to award you a sum in the region of £500M to spend on players and a new stadium.


And when you click to accept it brings the message:

You didn't think we'd make thing that easy for you, did you?

Now i knew better than that, but just thought that was quite cool to come across something different from the normal messages in-game.
