Strikers were good, rest of the team wasn’t, and the less said about the goalkeepers the better. Struggled all year, but managed to steer clear of trouble towards the end. Finished 17th.

I signed a goalkeeper who didn’t enter a state of blind panic every time the ball came into the box, team improved greatly as a result. Loaned in a few decent players, there or thereabouts all year, finished 3rd and went up via the playoffs.

Team was nowhere near good enough for this league. However, I had a secret weapon in the shape of a brilliant loanee striker. He scored 37 in 35 games, kept us up. Ended up 19th.

Much better in all areas, except up front, loanee striker didn’t come back and we were really up against it the entire season. Managed to stay up thanks to a 90th minute goal in a 1-0 against Crawley, which sent them down. 20th.

Improved the squad somewhat but found it hard as one of only 5 semi-pro clubs. Managed to sell my talented (you could’ve fooled me) goalkeeper and actually buy a player with the proceeds! At least we looked competitive in most games, never in any real danger, finished 16th.

Still semi-pro but the team was starting to look like a decent midtable outfit, almost in the top half at one stage. Something then happened after Christmas. Goalkeeper forgot how to catch; defenders lost the ability to mark or tackle; midfielders couldn’t recall how to see pass or make a bit of movement; and my strikers simply went on strike! While DMing we lost 5 games on the spin and I resigned in a fit of pique as we plummeted towards the relegation zone.
Went on holiday for 2 years during which time I got a grand total of zero job offers. I then suffered a power cut and decided that it might be wise to call time on my illustrious career.
You did well to get as far as you did with one club, I reckon. It just goes to shw, though, thatn matter how good you are there is just no room for alcohol in football.
