its been a while since i made an update (or played fm), and really i dont care if i dont follow the guidelines (and how the hell did craig become a moderator?!!) anyway here's a brief summary of how i've been going in fm07

the plan was to recreate my trip overseas i had recently, managing clubs in all the countries i visited, (initially i wanted to do only cities, but you try moving from singapore to hearts/hibs in one go)

so i planned to play 1 season for every day i had in a country. so my travels would take me to singapore, scotland, england, france, holland, czech, austria, hungary, italy and morocco.


so i loaded up fm07 - first time i had properly played cm/fm in about 4 yrs all the others were crap, i got myself the latest update i could find because hey its more realistic if the transfers are up to date isnt it? and started.

singapore - finished last - forgot the name of the side but they were ****!

07/08

another season, another bad season

08/09

singapore - got sacked halfway through, joined police force, did slightly better, but got sacked as i started applying for other jobs

09/10

spent the whole season looking for jobs - took over a crap hungarian team for the last 3 games, couldnt avoid relegation and got sacked

10/11

managed some newly promoted hungarian team - relegated and sacked



now this is the point where i got a bit annoyed - i used to be good at this game goddammit! but now all i could do was lead a game 1-0 and lose 3-1 in the last 5 minutes, i was convinced the problem was the players

i went looking for jobs, it took a while but i was offered a job with ancona, they were massively in debt but had some decent players i thought.

ancona did well, i signed loads of guys on bosmans, it was like the united nations there at ancona - without the corruption, i guess.

anyway we finished in the playoffs spot after choking in the last game to get promoted automatically. so we made the final playoff, were leading going into the second game, were leading up until the 80th minute when a dubious penalty was awarded to the other team - they scored, i cried.

this year will be our year surely, millions in debt, but still signing players and coaches like it was going out of fashion. scraped in to the playoffs again, only to be beaten this time by having a penalty denied for my team - which the commentary said was obvious! i cried once again as my team got screwed over big time by the referees again..

surely not this time i thought at the start of the season, i tweaked my tactic slightly this season to avoid any fadeouts and it seemed to work, we won the league by a few points and ancona are into serie c1/a!!

14/15

i spent 4 days in italy on my trip so i allowed for four season in italy minimum, this was it, my goodbye to italy, we were a newly promoted team to the highly competitive serie c1/a

i had lost a lot of players over the summer - my start argie DC went to Boca for 1m, thus clearing all our debt but also leaving my defence full of 18 yr olds, we were very inconsistent all season, and as the last 5 games approached we gave up, into the playouts (?) we go.

drew the first leg 0-0 against a marco materazzi managed reggiana at home, then ancona showed that fighting spirit to win 2-1 away and stay in the league! woohoo

15/16 (current season)

i have one of those great boards it seems where you can apply for any jobs and they dont care, because my time is up in italy i've tried to move on, but no luck, we have strengthened our side quite a bit and i've sold lots of players who were doing nothing (it wasnt until my 2nd season in italy i realised that players in the reserves dont actually play any games ) we have started our friendlies well, including a beating of duisburg 1-0 at home.. we are back in debt again but the board dont seem to care, i think we are a roughie for the promotion to serie b this year, but at the same time i will keep applying for jobs...

With that attitude I doubt anyone will in here will give two middle fingers about your update, I for one do not, and with this latest update thing, are you implying that you downloaded a third party update?

Another no-no in LLM, player naming is against the rules as well, and for the love of god could you at least use your shift key? Does your keyboard have one at all?

It's like this though, my good fellow...the new blokes don't know you, the new blokes follow the guidelines (and Forum Rules) and they get all bent out of shape over obvious "indiscretions".

Bottom line, they'll just start the abuse of old and won't pay a blind bit of attention to your update, enjoyable as it may be to you.

Anyways, I hope you continue to be well and Craig will moderate the next time he turns up
