Season 07-08 Blythe - BSN
Expectation : Midtable
Transfer Budget : 0
Wage Budget : Sort of
Players In : 0
Players Out : 0
Season Summary
League : Opened the season with a stunning 4 game winning streak, and promptly jumped up to Cambridge before the end of August.

Season 07-08 Cambridge - BSP
Expectation : Contend for promotion
Transfer Budget : Don't remember
Wage Budget : Don't remember
Players In : 0
Players Out : 0
Season Summary
League : Promising looking squad, off to a very poor start. Put Blyth tactic in, immediate turnaround....but then League 1 Rotherham was looking before end of September.

Season 07-08 Rotherham - League 1
Expectation : Contend for promtion
Transfer Budget : 0
Wage Budget : about 7k less than spending
Players In : 2, bought 1 Scottish 17 yo ST, 1 ML on a free.
Players Out : Managed to dump some players in season, enough to raise small amount of funds for 1 purchase

Season Summary
Fought with Board to build bloated staff, trying to build quality with what is here as transfers near impossible. Scouts develop good prospect list mostly of Irish and Scottish youth, watch in frustration as many potential gems get snatched away.

League: Surprisingly tough defence came together quickly, juggled 3 month loan players to plug holes, and began a stunning run of wins/ties that took the Millers to top of League 1. Oddly, in January, every top team went into sharp decline, allowing us to survive a sudden complete inability to score and earn promotion with 1 month to go. Managed to limp across the finish line to capture the League 1 title on the last weekend.
Cup: Managed to survive in the 1 left to me, the FA Cup, until utterly crushed by Middlesborough in early January.

Decide to try to build something at Rotherham, use transfer budget and wage budget to bring in loads of youth. Plan to try to survive in League 1 and develop cheap youth into depth and quality, rather than using the 250k on 1-2 veteran players to stay up. Based on previous season, I am confident defence will be decent, very worried about scoring.

I presume you played for the english national team a few times. No? Oh, but why would those teams hire you then? Not very realistic, is it?

WHS^

A meteoric and unrealistic rise up the leagues to Rotherham by September of season 2

Hmm, or the years are off - everything seems to happen in the same 07-08 season...
Parallel universes perhaps?

What the others said, what starting reputation did you start with Moofar?

Because I am guessing it must have been with at least either Semi-Pro or Professional.

But, prove me wrong.

My reputation is just Regional now, I was Obscure, not sure what I started with vis-a-vis Semi-Pro or Preofessional, but meant to chose low - didn't mean to be boasting, I'll check. Both the Cambridge and the Rotherham jobs were a surprise, especially because the teams were better than I expected. Cambridge actually got promotion on the season. Everything seemed to be very easy until February.

Current season is much much more of a struggle, very inconsistent and the one tactic I had all season isn't working at all anymore, more losses in the first half than all last season. Experimenting is producing erratic results that are keeping me just out of relegation, I am scoring far more but letting in a shocking number of goals, and I seem to either get 3 goals or none, leading to a worse record than goal differential would suggest. Completely baffled as to how to fix it, especially the defensive performance.

Does that make anyone any happier?

No.

An update is only allowed after three seasons, you've barely completed one...

(1) read the guidelines.
(3) Decide if you do want to play realistically.
(2) Decide if you would like to stick around.

Until then - I will consider you and your updates as pure carp - but if you decide to stikck around, you will be welcome. Have a good day.

There's no need to try to make people happy here, Moo, it's not required If you can justify your starting options and you're happy, then who can complain?
But if you're starting as a pro or semi-pro, yet you want to follow LLM guidelines, why take the promotions so quickly? That's going to be your curse, because by leaving the lower leagues in so few seasons (using your high reputation) you're circumventing the ethos here. You might as well start as Rotherham and enjoy the game your way and not confuse it with an LLM style.
Anyone else's thoughts?

Missed the 3 seasons thing, and will check reputation. This is the first game I have played more than 2 months, and based on warm and friendly response regarding team hiring sequence (which seemed odd to me), I presume I must have had a higher than 'allowed' starting rep.

As I am both enjoying and presently being frustrated by this current game, I guess I will just keep it to myself, since it is apparently just carp. Sorry to have offended.
