It is not a reputation "higher than allowed" that is the problem...

If you were a highly reputable footballer in real life - then by all means go for it.

the idea behind LLM is not to suffer through the leagues, not to start as low as possible per se.

The main idea is to play realistically - as most of us here don't really play high flying football, we start the most realistically spot available - which just so happens to be the lowest of the low leagues...

Does this make sense? Besides, LLM forum offers guidelines not rules -

There are very few rules - namely what to post in the forum - not how to play the game (how to play are only guidelines)... I feel I am being redundant - but I hope it helps...

Enjoy your game!

Fair enough - I intended to start a LLM game, but must have screwed up my reputation. I don't recall the starting screens (I run every game in near real time and take notes, so that was some 75 hours of game play ago, sometime in March) so I will have to start another game to see where I erred.

Note, Rotherham was in League 2, not League 1, but the reputation point stands.

I guess, request (since when is he a mod) clicked the wrong button to lock.

Good second post etc. though. Don't let yourself be scared away.

Honestly....

The hostile reception was very rude and unecessary...

give the guy a chance, that was inches from scaring him away from LLM forever...

There was no hostility - just a stern highlight of the guidelines....

As proven by Moofar's subsequent postings after the first, it seems like he is LLM material - so we have been giving him advice.

We never shut him down - we gave him a chance to decide whether he would like to stick around or not.

Clarity often comes with direct statements - which sometimes can be interpreted as harsh.
But clarity is preferred.

Nobby is the inquisition himself...

"Nobby can you tell me how Cardiff has been doing lately, please?"

"No. I see you have been spending your time on GP&TG, ask there"
