Hi. First post.

I usually manage York City but decided to have a bash at LLM with Harrogate Town. No big problems except regarding one of the fundamental rules concerning the search player/staff function.

My one and only scout gets poached at the start of every game and my advert doesn't bring in any interest. How am I supposed to get new players into my club if I cannot scout them?

Is it acceptable to use the search function to offer trials to players the AI is interested in? If not why does the AI get the advantage of being able to sign players it hasn't scouted when I can't?

So far I concede 4 goals a game on my pre-season friendlies - 7 in my last match against Wakefield of all teams.

PS My tactics are fine thanks - no advice needed there. Built them myself and tried and tested with York over many seasons.

Are you even in the right forum? Have you even read the rules? Read them carefully is my suggestion. We don't discuss tactics at all. As for you losing your scouts? There is absolutely no need to even open the player search screen. If you look carefully I'm sure there's a job search screen somewhere. :nudge nudge:

If you're conceding goals to all grey teams no need to be alarmed, it happens to all of us. If you can't keep a scout then you'll have to sign grey players on your team. The LLM way of life is truly sadistic, you can't think of it too rationally.

Thanks for the replies.

Sesquip - I did make every effort to avoid mentioning tactics - I was being ironic - or trying - it doesn't come across well in type.

LLM is truly sadistic Fire Bracelet. I guess the difficult part is ignoring the knowledge I have from previous saves.

Especially frustrating is seeing my favourite players being signed up for other teams.

No worries. I will rise to the challenge and will no doubt post again in the future.

Make sure that you are fully patched with 8.0.2 as there was an issue with the out of the box game that meant that not enough unemployed staff, especially scouts, were generated by the game to fill lower league positions.

With 8.0.2 usually some scouts apply through the job centre after a month or so.

Just recently patched up - the first responses to my scout job ad came back with no interest. I will re-post it and try and be more patient.

I was inundated with coaches however the big man upstairs doesn't share my desire to improve the squad and won't let me sign another....grrrr

Nickname - I just looked it up in the dictionary to verify my spelling and lo and behold it isn't even in there!!! Have I gone through my life so far using a made-up word???? Doh!
