I still can't get over the stadium @ Hongdeng... can someone check that? Surely - IRL - they'd either get more fans each week , or revise the size of the stadium.
The capacity is actually 20,000. It's a multi-purpose stadium so it's often used for other things - probably why your bank balance was healthy from it.
Season 7: 2016/17
Plenty of players willing to join led to a pretty successful season. Defence was old & needing replacement, so replaced virtually the whole lot. Scored a lot, conceded too many & after hanging around the playoffs, a poor run in February consigned us to mid-table
In: 9 + 3 loanees, $0
Out: 13, $1k
Finish: 10th
Cups: Don't ask
Leading scorer: Other striker, 31, & also Fans POTY
Survival as expected/hoped/predicted!
In other news, AFC Wimbledon managed to survive - just, Billericay finished just below Hinckley, & Prescot Cables are back up with Marine
Season 8: 2017/18
Fewer guys wanted to join, but those that did were pretty decent. Things went pretty well, couldn't beat the very top teams & final position probably flatters us a bit. Won the 2nd play-off semi, but suffered 2 key injuries which made the final a pretty tough ask. Still took it to penalties after coming back from 0-1 down in extra time.
Best penalty taker attribute of 6, despite Lincoln missing 4 in a row we went out
In: 9, $0
Out: Something like 21 for $79k - including star virgin-islander MLC for $60k.
Finish: 3rd, no promotion.
Cups: blegh
Leading scorer: New FC, 28, unsurprisingly also fans POTY.
Season 9:
Who needs loyalty anyway?
Start of season 9, (League 2) Tranmers Rovers asked me to take over. Had a quick look, they had OK finances (which apparently means over the wage budget and paying off a massive loan) & the squad looked alright for at least a play-off berth. Away I go.
46 games later, we finish 2nd after being top 3 for 40 weeks without ever hitting 1st. Stockport only team above me. Gun centre forward is the clear standout, my only pre-season signings - 2 loanee attacking mids - feed the ball up to him nicely & loanee sub striker chips in with a lazy 20 goals. Over the course of the season I manage to get rid of a few overpaid oldies & replenish with cheap youngsters. As I'm basking in the glory of my achievements & looking ahead to next year's signings, I offer a contract to gun FC who decides he wants a pay rise. Not according to the board, although by this stage we're about 3 grand underbudget! Off he goes to WBA, we'll play against him next year in League 1!

Finish: 2nd
Cups: 1st round in all! Fans are happy though... odd people
Leading scorer: Gun FC, 41
Season 10: 2020/21
Fun year, replacement of star FC looked good but wasn't. 5 straight losses (including League Cup) had me thinking all sorts of bad, but then a 1-0 home win to last year's co-promotees Stockport gave me a bit of hope. Slowly climbed up to about 12th, slowly dropped back to about 16th, stayed there. Highlight was a 1-1 away draw at Championship (eventual title-winners) West Ham, leading to a big pay day in the re-play losing 2-3. Our best pick-up was free-signing experienced centre-back, topped ratings with 7.30 from 50 apps with 16 goals & 6 MoM
In: 10, $8k + 3 loanees
Out: 5, $135k
Finish: 15th
Cups: 4th round replay in the FA cup
Leading scorer: New AM/FLC, 19
Fans POTY: Other new AMLC
In other news, WBA let former star FC's contract expire... the prodigal returns!
