Yes I admit, I am addicted to FM, particularly LLM.
But I do have also another strange habit related to this addiction and I am wondering if there are more FM-addicts having this strange “side-effect”.
It all started years ago when we visited my friends in North Yorkshire (I am Dutch btw). As they knew I love football, and even work as a coach for many years now, they asked me if I wanted to visit a football match. But 2 days later they called that unfortunately Middlesbrough had an away game the weekend I would visit.
Of course I was very disappointed, but that evening when I was playing my FM-game I got an excellent idea. I checked on all the clubs in that area, checked their scheduled and watched Bradford playing that particular weekend.
In the meantime I have visited many of the clubs in that area, like Doncaster, Harrogate and Darlington and I really like to watch football played in the lower leagues.
Coming back to my strange habit again. As I am travelling/travelled quite a lot I am always checking FM which clubs are in the neighbourhood and try to catch a match. I always prefer to watch the lower league teams (do not ask me why).
This brought me eg to Silkeborg, Horsens en Vejle in Denmark, watched a 2nd division match of Slask Wroclaw in Poland, watched clubs like Girona, Lleida, Tarragona in Spain and once in a while I visit clubs like Turnhout and Geel in Belgium.
Went to Lanzarote where I even trained the -19 of the local 2ndB division club. And recently I travelled all over Cyprus, but unfortunately these clubs are not playable in FM.
Someone else out there who’s suffering the same addition level …. ?????

There are rumours about people who travelled to Scotland from all over Europe just to see a Scottish Third Division match.
I started my FM07 LLM career at Stenhousemuir, so as they are my favorite 3rd div team I might as well go there ...........
In California there are a number of USL teams (just below MLS) that play regularly, but unfortunately MLS is the lowest playable division on FM (or should I say, WSM)

It was a good game, actually. I was amazed that in the penalty shootout, only one player missed - it's not what I expected of Englishmen.
(though, on a more serious note, I don't think that Portugal's current number one who had defied England twice in the past in penalty shootouts was a better keeper than Portsmouth's health-obsessed veteran or the Arsenal legend with the name of a sailor)
