Well, that and it’s clearly a pitiful wind up.

Ah. Didn't know about the 3 seasons bit.

And it isn't a wind-up. I've played FM for years but never tried LLM. Always thought it was too austere. But then I've seen debate about it kicking around, and so I thought I'd give it a try.

Claret - you should try having more compassion for your fellow man. Or be less cynical, if that isn't the same thing. LLM is a wholly different approach to playing FM, so perhaps you could please be a little more patient whilst I get my head around it.

I'm still puzzled by how to find players. Not helped by having no scouts atm, but what is the done thing in terms of recruiting?

Welcome to FM, good luck.

As far as my game goes, i've only bought the players who my scout has found and thats it. I know it takes time to get used to, but it's worth it.

Looking forward to reading this in 3 seasons time.

I'd hope to be back in a couple of weeks with my first official update.

Good luck James, I really enjoy reading all the up-dates in this forum and I have had a stab at it myself. (although i'm more of a lurker)

The first 6 months is a struggle but in the end the scouts always come up trumps and often give plenty of loan options and young uns.

I never utilised scouts in previous games, until I read the guidlines here and it completely takes away the need to ever use 'search' again.

James, I saw you in the thread in OTF last night.

If you're serious about playing LLM, welcome to the forum.

As it says in the guidelines, it is recommended to only use player/staff search in emergencies.

I personally would recommend trying to sign a scout and then using the scouts to find players.
