Season 11-12 Tonbridge Angels - Blue Square South
After a short job search that involved getting offers from amateur German teams, Tonbridge Angels seemed to be my salvation... Or at least until I saw exactly what I'd gotten into... Not enough players to raise a team & no budget. I stuck it out for exactly 28 days and 3 friendly defeats (1-3, 0-5 and 2-8), before deciding that the dole was a better option!
Resigned
Fortunately I wasn't there long before I got picked up by the mighty Bromley
Season 10-11 BFC Turkiyemispor - German Regional Division North
Expectation : Stay Clear of Relegation
Transfer Budget : 0
Wage Budget : 4.3K
Players In : 3 (0K) + 4 Loan
Players Out : 8 (85K)
Season Summary
League : 7th P42 W17 D9 L16 F74 A65 GD +9 Pts 60
Cups : FA Cup 2nd Qual Rd, FA Trophy 3rd Qual Roud, Setanta Shield 3rd Round (South)
High Point : A formidable strike partnership of a home-grown talent + a loanee just banging them in for fun, and getting themselves nominated for player of the season awards. That and the fact that I actually felt comfortable in my job - with regards to wages I was so prudent that the board actually said "to make sure that my prudence doesn't stop me attracting the players to move the club forward". Are they trying to *make* me spend money?
Low Point : The board deciding that they were less than satisfied with my management despite a season high point, low wage budget, good transfer movements. All because the club was over 100K in debt. I'm trying guys! I can't work miracles - clearing debt takes time. Unless you've unearthed a new wunderkid I've not seen??
Season in One Word : Exciting!
So next season I hope to build on all this, push for playoffs and maybe even drag the club back into the black. It's the best I've felt about any of the teams I've managed in this save so far. There's so much potential...
Season 12-13 Bromley - Blue Square South
Expectation : Respectable League Position
Transfer Budget : 0
Wage Budget : 3.8K
Players In : 6 (0K) + 5 Loan
Players Out : 12 (50K) + 1 Loan
Season Summary
League : 5th (Play-Offs!) P42 W19 D14 L9 F88 A64 GD +24 Pts 71
Playoffs : Defeated 5-4 on aggregate by Salisbury City in the Semi
Cups : FA Cup 2nd Qual Rd, FA Trophy 1st Round, Setanta Shield 2nd Round (South).Cups Suck!
High Point : New Loan Striker scoring 50 league goals, and being classed as a "decent signing for most Premiership clubs" and getting BSS Player of the Year Award. Home Grown Car-based AM R getting 2nd place for his record assists!
Low Point : The cups. Being 3-0 up at half time to a team of greys and still losing 4-3. A broken leg for my home-grown star striker.
Season in One Word : Nearly
So a new 2year contract at Bromley to consolidate the respectability in the BSS. Personally I think with a slightly stronger defence and a couple more loan coups, we may have a chance at promotion!
Season 13-14 Bromley - Blue Square South
Expectation : Respectable League Position
Transfer Budget : 0
Wage Budget : 3.4K
Players In : 4 (1K) + 3 Loan
Players Out : 16 (75K)
Season Summary
League : 5th (Play-Offs Again) P42 W21 D9 L12 F75 A48 GD +27 Pts 72
Playoffs : Defeated 2-1 on aggregate by Salisbury City in the Semi. Again
Cups : FA Cup 2nd Qual Rd, FA Trophy 3rd Qual Round, Setanta Shield 2nd Round (South).Cups Suck! Again
High Point : The defence being alot stronger, and my own little striker still banging the goals in. Car-based right-winger still getting the assists
Low Point : The cups. Again. The playoff semi. Again.
Season in One Word : Again
Bromley are now comfortably top-half in the BSS, but I'm not sure if I can put on a challenge with such a tight wage budget (in comparison to other teams). I need to strengthen in midfield - and find a back-up GK. I'm also getting linked with jobs at Macclesfield (my favourite club), Kettering and Aldershot. Since I'm an ambitious so-and-so, watch this space!
