What? What happened? Wheren't you supposed to be a marine biologist and stick with your sharks like a cowboy to his guns? No. I quit. And I regret it terribly. In a moment of stupidity and in search for adventure, I quit. I saw that the coach at Brugge was in the frying pan and thought - why not... So I nagged and nagged and got the post.
Have you guys seen Life Aquatic with Steve izou? Well that is how the team was. A paranoid AssMan (kept telling me everyone was upset). Gazillion scouts, more like interns from Alaska they sucked, all 12 of them. The squad was a hornet's nest... So I got rid of their star, their second star, the third - the whole freaking constellation - and brought my Veracruz youngn's. After a shaky start we picked up an amazing 10 games without defeat, until we were ran out of gas around game 32 (at which point AA Gent had won the title).
So we finished 4th, qualifying for the Vase.
Oh, we played in the Euro Cup, and managed to reach the group stage where the highlights were beating Ajax 2-1 on their ground and losing to Jerusalem 2-0 at home.

Oh... Don't even get me started - one thing is certain about FM 08... The Brugges-Anderlecht rivalry is VERY present... they ended up 3rd, one above us and our last match was decisive in getting a ticket for Europe...
Which by the way, I think there is a bug - we should've played in the Euro Vase, but didn't, and there are no more Belgian Cups (are they removing it in real life?).

There should be a Belgian cup, which awards you with a Uefa Cup ticket if you win it. Fourth place does indeed mean an Intertoto place, iirc. But isn't the Intertoto dissapearing irl? Or hasn't SI implemented this? It sucks arse anyway.

This season started badly - a bug stole my place in the Euro Vase (lack of Belgian competitions). And the team seemed shaky - not sure why, maybe because my star goalie wanted out. Older players were still moaning about petty things, and my scouts sucked... In came a legion of young kids, and out with the poisoned apples (including three extra crappy scouts).
By mid-season I was seriously considering quiting - could not do better than fourth. until something happened that made us start winning the easy games and managed to climb to second.
Did not play cups, maybe the bug has been fixed by next season (added the patch a few days ago).
We did triumph over half our rivals - and it felt like glory.
So second place - with a new group of kids, including a new goalie and European competition.
I signed a new contract for one year - the board were making me sweat it. So I may not be around the next season.

Murphy walked side by side holding my hand through out this season. Already anoyed at not being able to play the Belgian Cup - I was determined to persevere in as many tournaments as possible (well, two was the maximum).
The summer saw me employ the same strategy as before in order to get players. I begged. Armed with an amazing striker and goalie, there was hope.
We started off poorly in the league - but managed to gravitate near our expectations (1rst!). Then something happened - players were upset and there was an exodus halfway through the season - it was actually a good thing.
On the third match day after the winter break the stars alligned. Six teams were sharing the top with only one point difference among them. Five of them had played already, and we were the only ones missing. A win against crappy Mouscron would put us at the very top and stay at least a point above. I believe this marked the winning team. We tied. Another bad run saw me ask for an increase in the stadium size - to which the board just waived a hand. I decided enough is enough, I made a tantrum and got sacked.
Surprisingly the board said that there were strategic corporate movements going on...
I holidayed and got an offer from Athletic Bilbao - four games left in the season, sitting in last place and they wanted me to challenge for an Euro Cup place (I could still finish 4-20). Now THAT's a challenge. Further - Athletic can only sign Basque players... yikes.

Season 11 - Athletic Bilbao 2012/2013
Lasted one game. Then I quit. I just didn't feel Basque enough.
Season 11 - Heracles - Dutch Premier 2012/2013
Lowly Heracles came knocking. Sitting on 6th place in the premiership, with a 90M debt (and the club is only worth 13M). I figured, this is a nice challenge.
There were several games left, so I could still challenge for an European competition. The first match we lost 0-6 at home to Utrecht... I quit right after the game.
Season 11 - Wolfsburg - 2.Bundesliga 2012/2013
Wolfsburg had just been relegated a season ago and now they were challenging for the title with a bunch of matches left. Why the manager quit, I don't know. But it was an easy win of the title (with 15 points ahead of No. 2).
We lost our top striker in the summer and then the board did something that REALLY ****ed me off - they sold our amazing AML 20-yr-old for nothing. I seriously considered quiting, but decided to stick around until July 1rst and see how I was doing in the market.
