Thank you. That's all i was asking for.
NB: the figure "250%" was just something plucked from nowhere to suggest "something so large as to be obviously erroneus", forgive me if it sounded like i was suggesting something else.
Also, with regard to:
"Using your scouts and playing people promoted through your academy even Merlin the Wizard couldn't develop a tactic that would have a player producing 250% too many goals"
It's very easy to do so by accident - obviously i'm not going to go into what happened as it would break rules, but if you have any doubts over the validity of my statement/my integrity, feel free to email me and i will happily explain what i'm talking about.
I'll choose to ignore "You don't appear to understand the intricacies and method of playing LLM, Ched" as you appear to have merely miss interpreted what i've written.
Thanks for the offer, but I'll stick to "the less I know the less I'm likely to be influenced" adage
As for "You don't appear to understand the intricacies and method of playing LLM, Ched", there was no slight to your manhood intended, I was merely about to say what I did, that the players used by LLaMas couldn't hit a bull on the arse with a banjo
Ouch... didn't need to remember that tournament. Dead last of the 32... yikes. I think only one goal (by McBride) in 3 games. Ouch again.
Brings back bad memories for me as well. Realized the US only does well when I attend in person:
1994: I was there, they made second round
1998: Couldn't make it, finished dead last
2002: Was there, had to postpone my trip home to London when we made the QFs
2006: Planned to go, wife got pregnant, son born 1 week before tournament starts, US out in first round.
They should give me free tickets in 2010 and pay for my trip.
A bit late to answer yesterday's Ched and wwfan rethorical questions, but if it helps to clear their minds I'll add my 5 cents.
I've been known to pester the SI boys with tactics of mine for some 4 iterations. Whenever I feel some tactic of mine is doing too well in a certain way (too many goals from a certain dead balls situation, too much ball possession with players who are clearly substandard (or standard at best) for the league in which we are, a player in a certain position who is ripping the oposition yet all teams fail to manmark/close down on him, etc) I stop using that new iteration of the tactic and send it to them for analysis.
The only such problem I've had was one or two iterations ago, when a tall striker would simply score for fun. Otherwise I seem to constantly underperform
We did have a discussion not too long ago where I claimed physical players are still too good though. After a technically brilliant winger of mine failed to impress, to put it mildly.
