On the Manager Reputation thingy, Ian, you've not had any players finalise their signing with a word along the lines of:
"Player X announced he was excited at the prospect of working with renowned manager...'?

In the past, when I've dropped down leagues, that's been the only outward sign that my reputation has had any impact.

Yep, I've certainly had that, but I've never put it down as a reason why they've signed, just a wee ego-massaging addition.

Season 2022/2023

Why don't you all f-f-fade away...

Stuttered in League 2, there for another season, finished 8th, one place away from playoffs

FA Cup...lost to Huddersfield, 1st round.

League Cup...lost to Arsenal, 3rd round.

Johnstone's...whatever...runner up in that to Gillingham, who narrowly beat us 4-3 in the final.

Picked up a 33 y/o Scottish striker from Villa on a free. Good finisher so we'll see how he does nexy season.

Our "Club Favourite" retired this season, and turned down an offer to Coach.

I bet the Albion(the one's from Brighton & Hove that is) are pushing for continental glories, with half of the England team playing for them right

They're actually in 13th place in League 2, not quite set for Continental glory.

Well its so close i can almost fell it in my fingers. Unless thats just my hand still stinging from when i saved a 500 mile an hour shot at school today.

Season 2023/2024

Promotion! 3rd place, but we deserved first (Well..I would say that).

Cups were atrocious. The Board were pleased, as were the fans, but we did nothing...even I was embarrassed, and I believe that cups suck @ss.

The 33 (34 now) year old striker promised more than he delivered, 15 goals in 36 games, but one of our home-grown youngsters averaged 2 goals every three games so things worked out all right.

They did well as mentor and mentée.

Next season, League 1...and I'm confident we'll do well.

We've broken the "no foreigner" duck and signed a Polish DL from Gillingham.

The squad just has a feeling of...something, you know?
