Just read through this entire thread (shows how busy I am at work) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The only trouble is that it makes my own managing skills seem very inadequate!
Finished 6th, one place behind the playoff places (although Media prediction had us at 20th), but we failed dismally in the Santa Claus, the FARTrophy and the F*Cup.
We're operating with perhaps the smallest squad I've ever played with, 29 players, two of them aged 39 and a whole rake in their teens.
Our scout's recommended a Brasilian, currently out of contract having played with Aldershot, so I've put in a bid for him. He's 33, an AM/FC, and his stats look old physically, but he looks quite skilful.
We've had 5 players promoted, two look absolutely pants, have you seen zeros in stats? No, neither have I, but those guys look like they should have them.
I feel comfortably confident with this season's chances.
Promoted this season in 1st place, the Brasilian signed, scored 23 goals, then left for £70k at the end of the season.
Good deal, I thought. Free transfer, 23 goals, promotion and then £70k in the bank :cool:
Cups and Trophies were a pain. We managed to win the first game in all then were turfed out in the next round, but the fans and the board seemed satisfied.
