Season 2025/2026

Not a bad season, not a good season...it had its moments, but promotion wasn't to be achieved.

We finished 4th in the League.

Cups were strange.

Dundee beat us 2-1 in the 2nd round of the Challenge Cup, but we beat Celtic twice, 3-2 in the Scottish Cup 5th round (lost 2-1 to St Mirren in the next) and 2-0 in the 3rd round of the League Cup (lost 2-1 to Caley Thistle in the next).

Both victories were at home, so no big pay day.

Reasonable pay day on our 18y/o FC, though. He was scoring goals for fun, valued at £500k so I slapped a £2.5m tag on him in the (vain) hope that we'd keep him. Fulham put in a £2.1m bid for him and our lovely Chairman took matters into his own hands and sold him.

/me breathes a sigh of relief that the only times (so far) my Chairman has pulled that stunt were times I'd have taken the offer anyway.

Season 2026/2027

So close...and yet so far

We finished 2nd, five points behind Dundee so not really promotion contenders, but close enough to tell that next season's going to be an important one.

Cups? Not like last season, no victories against Celtic, but a nice little earner against Rangers at Ibrox in the Scottish Cup 4th round (lost 4-0) which financed a deal for two youngsters from Aberdeen that look like ones for the future.

We have another FC who has an eye for goal, but this time the Chairman can take a running...thing...at himself, I've got my eyes open and bids will be my domain (big talk :cool: )

Next season...
