Default Burritos and Taters

Well, after two false starts with Bishop's Stortford and Blythe Spartans and repeated game crashes I fixed the problem. It turned out that the problem was the patch got slightly corrupted on download. When I did a complete clean reinstall it seems to have cleared up the problem (Only one crash). So I decided
to try something different after hearing from another Llama who was fighting the good fight in Chile!!! So I loaded the game with Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Columbia and the USA from the New World and England, Northern ireland, Ireland, Scotland and Spain all in a Large Data base. (All Nations loaded as completely as possible.)

I then went to Frank with a request for a team in the Western Hemisphere, as I have never played on this side of the pond before.

First I added up all the teams available to weight the ratio properly and randomly assigned myself a country. The Cards brought Mexico so I hoped Frank would be kind after I gave him a Burrito. The result? Lobos BUAP.

2007-08 Club Lobos Mexican First Division A
Expectations: Safe Mid table

There are two stages to the Mexican season, an opening stage and a closing stage. Finished the opening stage 11th out of 12th in my group with a record of 4-3-10 and a GC of -10. The Closing stage I finished 12th with a record of 2-5-10 and a GD of -14. Brought in 9 players for $325,000 and sold two for $190,000. Biggest signing was slow stupid fullback. Needed 3 points in my last 5 games to avoid relegation. No problem right? Final five scores:

1-5
0-1
0-1
3-5
0-3

So before I got the boot and probably kidnapped and never heard from again as no one would want to pay the ransom, I Fled Mexico back to my native USA and waited for another club to offer me a contract.

2008-09 On the Dole

My holiday lasted a bit longer than expected as despite applying for EVERY low level job out there, no one would hire me.

Finally on the 12 August 2009, the newly promoted former Amateur side Newington YC in Northern Ireland decided to take a flyer and hired me for two year at €225!!!! Whoo Hoo

2009-2010 Newington YC Northern Irish 2d Division

I was hired with the goal of gettting the Swans firmly established in Division 2. The challenge looked daunting as I don't think I have ever seen such a motley group of players in my entire FM career. Showed a wopping 30 players the door (well mostly my predicessor did). I brought 15 players in all on frees as I didn'have a transfer kitty. My scout, was pretty good  which I've never experienced before, but I was only allowed to scout Northern Ireland becuase my board are scottish . However I did bring in two potential stars in a fat striker and a slow midfielder. Never dropped lower than 9th, and
never got higher than 6th but finished a solid 7th and a good 8 points clear of relegation. AFter I brought in Fat Striker after the new year, he scored 6 goals and had 2 assists in 7 appearances and a rating of 7.29 . Slow midfielder also contributed a solid 7.14 with a goal and assist in 7 games.

2010-2011 Newington YC Northern Irish 2d Division

Media expects us to finish 8th. I expect to finish top half.

Really never in danger of relegation as I finish 8th, 7 points clear of relegation. As soon as the transfer window opens, I am able to sell three more players for another €47,000  Unfortunately, my finances are horrid and the board gives me €2,000 of all that money so it looks like it will be another slog through the mid table. Oh, they did give me another 2 year contract for €275/week. :p

Forgot to mention slow midfielder is now captain and I refuse to sell him. Fat Striker is my AssCaptain and scored 9 goals as he slipped a little. I refuse to entertain purchases for either of them or my midget GK.

It is nice to see someone venturing into the Mexican League - but sad to see you couldn't cut it...

Good luck in Ireland!
