I have all my outfield players on one training schedule. The schedule is set to 'intensive' on every category apart from fitness (medium) and goalkeeping (none).
Despite having so many categories all set to intensive, my players are always near enough on 100% condition come matchday. Their morale is always superb and their stats have gone through the roof.
There's something telling me this can't be right though, surely it's too good to be true?
Surely my players should be absolutely knackered! Or maybe because I haven't set the fitness category to intensive, that makes it ok?
I'm starting to think that despite everything seeming ok with, there are underlying problems with because my performances haven't been too great so far.
And Gerrard's just got injured for 7 months, is this just a coincidence?
Any help much appreciated.
First off - How much players can cope within training is dependant on the individual players - some can cope with heavy schedules, some can't.
Secondly intensive training like you're attempting will generally improve players but gradually wear them down, this can be seen mainly through an increase in training injuries and for the players who really can't handle the intensity of the regime a lowering of their condition.
(so basically - up to you whether you want to risk continuing in that vein or not ... one of the true risks of management, do you want to be sensible ... or risk having a permanently full physio room like Spurs used to )
