Default Football Manager in HD

Is anyone playing the new fm in hd? I played fm07 in HD and the pitch was quite large and showed alot of detail but in the new version the pitch is tiny and looks disgusting. Looks like an SD pitch on an HDTV. Is there anything i can do to change this??

I've not been able to play '08 yet (due to the 3rd fault I've encountered with a 360 so far. For all the critism they've had, at least the PS3 and Wii are reliable), but I actually thought the pitch and sprites (and font in general, tbh) were far too small in HD and SD in 360 FM '07.

FM '06 had slighter bigger, clearer sprites IMO and made for a much better match experience. I think I pointed it out as a concern about FM '08 in a thread a few weeks back.

CM 03/04 had the largest, brightest players that perhaps weren't realistc in scale, but that didn't matter when you could always tell exactly what was going on, and it certainly avoided the squinting I had to do for '07 on the 360 to see player names at times.

Is the pitch size in '08 the same as the one shown on the back of the box?

I am playing the game on a 19" HD monitor/TV hybrid thingy, and the pitch is, indeed, far too small. OK, sure, I could certainly benefit from a larger TV but the pitch does seem to take up a tiny fraction of the screen, and I remember the pitch in the '07 edition for the 360 being considerably larger than the one I'm staring at now. The names of the players as they're running around the pitch are painfully small. In fact, I'm pretty sure they couldn't get any smaller without melting into indecipherable blurriness.

Srill, I quite like the overall look of the new skin in general. Just a shame about the miniscule pitch.

Yes, one of the first things I noticed that I didn't like (and to be fair, there is a lot that I DO like) was the size of the 2D pitch. Why is there a huge banner at the top of the screen showing the score, and tons of grey space around the pitch? There are times when the numbers aren't even shown, particularly on GKs. I'm playing on a 32 inch HD and the 2D match engine feels like it's almost at SD settings. Very disappointed with this, and it is one of the most important screens of the game.

I brought this up last year with 07, which certainly I remember as having a bigger pitch than 08 has.

Can we please have a reduced score banner at the top and better use of the rest of the screen please? I know it's highly unlikely for 08, but for 09 it may make or break my purchase as I find it hard to believe, considering some of the complexities of some areas of the game, that making a skin which makes much better use of the 2D pitch on HD difficult.

If MS allowed user created content, I reckon someone would have modded it already.
