vegard_r - same as previous FM releases on 360 I think. Will try it out on Monday when back in the office and confirm.

furney89 - yes, it will come with 8.02 and the transfer update. The game is currently not available for Xbox 360, so all of the features in FM08 that weren't in FM07 are new to the platform.

As for integration of PC & X360, the only way we would be allowed to do this is to have the 360 online modes work in the PC game. However, as you may have noticed, very few third parties have so far utilised X360 & PC cross online gaming (the first comes out in a couple of weeks). If we are able to be shown stats and user numbers that show that for our kind of user, they are taking up G4W Live, then we'll look at it, but, at the moment, we have been provided with no stats of users, so it's impossible to make that decision.

The "full" online PC experience is not possible on 360, because of the way Live works. That's why we changed the online play for 360, so that there was still an online element that could be enjoyed by the users of that version of the game.

For the record, there have been people playing the game online since it came out. There were many mutiples of sessions last week alone.

Chuzcredit - see above. PC's & Xbox 360's can be online together if the PC user is subscribed to Xbox Live, or Games for Windows Live, but our current PC online mode wouldn't work on Xbox 360.

bcfcfanstu - It will cost the same price to retail as a standard Xbox 360 game. What retailers sell it for is up to them.

Doonhammer - Ours.

Something less annoying - surely you have something better to do than continue to troll, thus ruining the threads for people who want to discuss topics on the forum?

Edl - you are right, it didn't occur on dev or test kits.

Will Smith - FM2008 is not coming out on PS3.

furney89 - FML is a different game, and a different team. We have changed things with the network game - the core gameplay itself has no reason to be changed, but we've made it easier, and quicker, to play, adding in features like continue game timeout and the like.

For the answer to your other point regarding cross platform online play, see the answer above.

The demo thing makes no sense to me either. Hopefully as the game will work on core systems this year, the demo should be able to be released, as long as it gets the necessary certification.

Once again, I repeat, FM Live and FM08 are two seperate teams, different games, with different goals. 360 users get something unique in the online play in that game. So do the PC users. We wouldn't keep putting them in the games, and making improvements each year, and testing them, and supporting them, if we were planning on dropping them, or didn't think they were an important part of the overall game package.

So is the online mode going to be exactly the same as last year? I don't mind if it is as i spent hours on it last year. I would probably still be playing it now if my disc didn't break. And will there be any sort of editor in their?

bcfcfanstu - yes, same online modes. No editor - the edited data wouldn't fit on a memory card.

yeah i wouldnt want the full PC expirence online with the 360 it doesnt work well on console

surly if the PC version had options such create your own tournament, and one off matches etc like in 360, you'd see a big increase in online gaming with FM, i have 6 mates who have FM, and play it lots, and weve allways wanted to pit our legendary teams against each other, but you cant do it on pc,

linking it with the 360 version online, would simply get people playing the 360 game more, because if you go online on FM2007 360, no one plays it online, but if you put the PC players in that pool aswell (which has many many many many more players) alot more people would be playing it, especially on the 360 side if they knew they were going to get a game online

but this wouldnt be possible untill the next FM release on both formats at the earliest

i wasnt aware that in order to incorporate PC and 360 you needed to be apart of G4WL

but youd have to admit it would be a cool feature, even if it wasnt incorporated with 360, if you could jsut do it with PC players, playing one off matches, and tournaments, with a legendary team

Sorry to go back to it... but if the game doesn't use the hard drive, then to what does it save? The DVD-ROM?

I'm confused. And I don't own a big enough memory stick to save to

Id love to buy the game....but FM07 last year on the 360 had a number of hugely disappointing features....

- It looked terrible - this is a machine capable of fantastic graphics, look at Assassins Creed, COD4 - theres no reason why it cant look good

- It was incredibly slow and cumbersome to use...LMA07 - albeit they have years of console experiance behind them - was a far slicker and quicker game to play. And last year, more enjoyable on the 360.

- It lacked the flexibility that you get tactically on a PC - now I know its not going to be possible to get it anywhere near because PCs have mouses and you can get it so much more detailed...but you could hardly do anything last year.

I dont expect the same game as PC - and Im not even fussed whether its got a couple of bugs in. But one thing I am fussed about is if its horrible to look at, if its so cumbersome that I cant even change my tactics......

I have to be fair the screenys look OK - but I'll still reserve judgement!

I don't know, kinda seems like an utter waste of resources to me. I mean you're essentially going to be running spreadsheets on an next gen console system.

The whole point of console systems like the PS3 and Xbox 360 is that you don't have to spend $3000 + on a PC to enjoy next gen gaming graphics.

Without substantial new content - graphically or otherwise I just don't see why you'd want to play FM08 on a console when the PC version has a much bigger fanbase and access to more custom patches/skins. Plus I don't really fancy playing any FM with a console gamepad...

Although... it'll be cool if they did incorporate the sixaxis into your halftime team talks - ie like a mini-game where the harder you shake it the more angry your are

I feel the last two comments really don't understand what Football Manager is all about.

Its not about flashy graphics, if you want flashy graphics get LMA or Fifa Manager.

Its about a true representation of Club Managment, which is what it strives for, you don't need flashy graphics for it, it looks good for what it has to do. End of.
