I started using BMFM's tactic last night and only lost one match, which was a Scottish Cup replay against SPL opponents. Playing as St.Johnstone in Div 1 and whilst using 4-4-2 dropped to 23 points behing league leaders. I have accepted first season is over but can see myself winning league next season with this tactic. Signed a new Defensive Midfielder and Attacking Midfielder for it and the AM scored 2 in first game 2 in second game and now has 12 in 8 games. Cheers BMFM

Have finished my second season using this tactic and I am now promoted. Think it works well at Home but can leak you too many goals away. My Centre Mid scored 38 goals and went from being valued at £30,000 to £500,000 and attracting interest from EPL. Got him tied up on 4 year deal though

You're probably not a cr*p manager as you obviously know the game well now. It's more likely that you’re struggling to improve what is a weak team on paper. And remember a team that may be ok in real life doesn’t necessarily translate into a decent team in FM. I find with FM that if you haven’t got good players with decent backup then you just won’t get anywhere no matter how good your tactics.

So I’d stick with a team with a bit of a transfer budget and a salary budget which hasn’t all been used up. You’ll need at least a season, probably two, before you can start building the team into what you want and then another season for it to start to gel. So that’s up to three seasons to try and avoid the sack and turn around a mediocre side.

Obviously some teams have a lot more starting potential than others and that’s a big bonus to getting off to a good start.

Imanaged towith the FA cup this season and I've just beaten Arsenal in the community shield! Looking for a new striker but everyone class is loads of £££!!

In third season and finished 5 in Spl and i am now looking forward to europe via the euro vase.
Made a mistake though by applying for the blackburn job and not gettint it. Board and fans now hate me and are on my back. Good run in the uefa cup should sort that out though.
