Default Newcastle United St James' Park

Capacitiy: 52,327
Away Allocation: 3000
Address: St. James' Park, Newcastle-upon-Tyne NE1 4ST

What's the ground like?
St James' park looks totally different to any other ground you may have been to in the past. On approach, you can see the ground towering over the city centre, looking somewhat unbalanced as 2 stands (milburn & Leazes) have been developed to hold additional supporters. If your sat in the new upper tiers (Level 7), you can see a few of Newcastle's landmarks including the famous Tyne Bridge, milenium bridge & the sage music centre on geatsheads Quayside.

Under the old regime of Freddy Shepperd, the club announced they would be re-developing the Gallowgate End as well as a conference centre, hotel and residential apartments. This will increase the grounds capacity to approximately 60,000.

Where to drink?
There are literally hundreds pubs and clubs within walking distance. If you arrive by bus or car you will see many near the stadium, or on the way. If your arriving by train, you'll see a few as soon as you leave the train station, or on the way up.

What's it like for away fans?
There are 14 flights of stairs to climb, unless your disabled in which you'll have access to a lift in turnstile 89 (home supporters turnstile). The away fans are positioned in the top corner between Leazes and Milburn Level 7. Away fans are usually sat down, however if they do stand, stewards will usually try to make you sit down. If you refuse they will eject you from the stadium.

As far as I know, alcohol is served to away fans (may depend who you support), and the usual hot food, crisps, fizzy pop etc is available at the usual money-grabbing match day prices.

By Train
As you come out the train station, you need to cross the road and head up Bewick Street. Turn Right at Clayton Street, following the road ahead until your at Pizza Hut. Then turn left up Newgate Street (The Gate Complex should be straight ahead). Follow the road around past the gate and take your first left (St Andrews Street). Carry on following the road past Rosies Bar at the top and you will see the Ground straight in front of you. This should take 10-15mins.

Flying In
The easiest way to get to the ground by plane is to get the metro monument, then change trains and head for St Jame's Park metro station.
