Right, this game was started on 8.0.1 and has since been patched to .2

It is January 2012 and I have been interested in buying Vela from Arsenal for about 6 months (well since the start of the game, but I only re-added him to my short list over the summer 2011). I have arranged to sell Tevez for £34M at the end of the season to Barca (Tevez was being a moaning git about me trying to negotiate for more then £20M... so I decided to just get rid of him) so I have been looking to bring in someone else.

I had made a couple of bids for £20ish mil, but was flat out rejected because the Arsenal manager hates me... for both me being the united manager and for releasing a horde of comments questioning his man-hood and the like (well, only about them not having a chance at winning the title....)

I then around the 28th Jan sold some dead weights, so with the fee for Tevez included in my budget, I now had a budget of nearly £60M. So I thought I would test Arsenals resolve after my next game against... Coventry I think in the FA Cup. Who I somehow beat 8-0

But I digress.

I thought I would wait until deadline day as the bids can come and go quickly.

So on the 29th I hit continue and went to make myself a drink while the game chugged away.

When I came back it was the evening of the 30th.

In the space of the afternoon of the 30th, Barca had a bid for 23.9M made, accepted, terms were negotiated and accepted and the transfer was completed.

I mean, excuse ME!

I was not even given a chance to make a bid myself...

Why?

I know exactly what you mean, I was trying to sell Spencer Weir Daley and accepted 6 bids on 29th August, by 1st September I had signed 3 players from Spain, but for some reason, Weir Daleys transfer had still not gone through, nor had it been cancelled due to the transfer window, this has happened a few times, both for selling and buying.

I've often bid for a player before the 31st and it didn't go through, just hung in the air like a particularly pungent smell.

I find this strange considering players can be bid for, contracted and fully medicalled (is that a word?) between the hours of 11pm and 11.59pm on deadline day IRL

Well the main annoying thing is that the guy was in my short list, I had bids rejected - bids that were only exploratory bids but with the intention of making more bids once the transfer of Tevez had been arranged, yet I was still unable to get a chance.

So not fair

Ah well at least it was barca and not chelski or something. I still have the rest of the season to find another striker, or hope that my nice looking regen will be good enough to start playing. After this season I will only be left with 2 strikers as Owen is getting quite poo.... he is now 4th choice behind rooney, tevez and sinclair... I could try to put in Brandy or one of my other reserve team strikers but I dont think they can cut it...
