I have Worldwide Soccer Manager 2008 digital download for the mac. When I go into the data editor to adjust Defoe's contract clause, he has neither a 'per league appearances' clause nor a 'after league appearances' clause. He has two clauses, 'after league goals' and 'after international appearances.' In fact, some players have many int appearance clauses, some with the same teams. For example, Dave Nugent has 6 such clauses with only 2 teams. 3 int appearance clauses per former team. Is any of that correct? Seems strange to me.
Fix - using the data editor provided with the game, load the 8.02 database into the editor. Search in the "clubs" section for "Portsmouth". Go to the "finances" tab, then "contract clauses 2". Find "Jermain Defoe" (5th from bottom in the list). Change "per league appearances" to "after league appearances".
The things you need to edit are in Portsmouth's Contract Clauses section, is that where you were looking?
Yes, in contract clauses 2. I can change after int appearances or after league goals to either per league appearances or after league appearances in the drop down menu but neither start that way.
Looking there, I don't have a directory entitled "Football Manager 2008." Just WWSM 2008. When I look in the options of the editor it defaults to save in Football Manager 2008, I assume that is what forces the database move.
I've got a buddy who has the exact same set-up and my understanding is that everything worked well for him. I'm extremely confused.
My buddy who has had it work downloaded the patch from the torrent. I downloaded it from a mirror. I'm now downloading it from the torrent to see if that works.

I downloaded it from the torrent, same thing. Defoe has only 2 clauses as topic starter said. And yes, I have a mac. Guess portsmouth is going to survive on a Mac
BTW what does the "1 mill - 50 appearances - after league goals" mean anyway? 1 mill after 50 league goals or 1 mill after each league goal until 50? Why is the column named "appearances" if the clause is about goals?
