I'm in the middle of an online game, and I've only just realised that when I updated all of our games to be 7.0.2, I applied a slightly bigger update to my own game which updated the competition names to be Blue Square Premier and not Conference, and UEFA Champions League and not European Cup etc.
I didn't really notice but our online game has started to develop problems, and I think this might be the underlying problem.
I can't quite remember what update it was that I applied and as a result, I can't remove it.
I wanted to ask this in here instead of the FM Online forum because I wanted advice about the following:
- Does anyone have any idea what update I might have applied to change the competition name, and how do I change it back to the original?
- If I change it back, will it affect my current saved network game - is it like a skin and will update straight away?
- I also applied a graphical update that gave me nice 3D kits for English sides - is it possible a competition changing thing might have been part of this?
I would be hugely appreciative if anyone could give me any information and advice. I'd love to fix my network game.
Actually, on further investigation, I've discovered that the FM WeeGie update was applied to all 3 computers, and this includes a competition name change.
There is a fake.lnc file in the db folder with the following information:
However, for some reason, only my game as host has applied those competition name changes and the fact that the 2 other computers aren't is causing problems from time to time.
