we finally made it

i have downloaded a number of skins, they have been installed to the right place, yet when i go to load them they dont appear to...how long am i expected to wait? My laptop isnt slow, yet i keep having to ctrl+alt+delete my computer because nothing seems to happen

Help? anyone else had this problem, know what to do? I have read the sticky thread FAQ but it does not mention this issue

Make sure that in you FM folder there is only one level of file for your skins. The'hanging' you experience is due to the game not finding the skin's main xml file. I will make an example of a skin called 'cheese'.

Your file structure should be:

\skins\cheese\cheese.xml + other directories

You should not have:

\skins\cheese\cheese\cheese.xml + other directories

- notice the extra level of directories. That may well be your problem.

You should also have some patience. Its not a fact that no-one will help you, its a fact of giving it more that the 20 and then 50 minutes you did.

This is not a particularly active board - have some patience next time

I will thank you though because I had had a problem loading a new skin and after reading this checked to see if this was the problem.
