I tried using the editor to create a team of my friends. Took me a while as well. Trouble is, now the game refuses to load and just closes down for no seeable reason. I've used the editor before, but only to add on player in or make minor adjustments. What have i done wrong and how can i change it.

BTW, i can still load my old games up and play on them

It seems the database have become corrupt upon saving it. It happened to me once also.

Just use the backup database you have saved, then you can start a new game, ofcourse you'll have to edit it again for the nnew changes to take effect.

Yes, it sounds like you have to restore your saved db. If you haven't saved it, you can download a new update and replace it with the corrupt files.
If non of the above appeals to you, then I suggest a re-install .

im having a similar problem.My dad accidently rebooted the whole computer and i lost everything.

Im slowly downloading all the patches on slow dial up.The problem is that im making my all bugs fixed patch but once i save and exit.I cant get back onto the editor.plz help

I had the same problem, when I wanted to sign legends on advance, and I fixed it...
Don't know I it's the same thing with your editing, but I forgot to put in the contract details of every player, especialy the date they have joined the club, when the contract expired and there pay check

I have the same problem. I tried what you suggested but it doesn't working.
Even if I reverse to original database, the game doesn't working anymore. I have no joice but to reinstall the game. That means I cannot make any edit in the database and it is...

I have been doing some heavy editing and it seems fine to me. I must have added 300-400 players, reserve teams, reputations, weather, media, new staff, club loans, you name it. You just have to be careful I guess, follow the guidelines, don't edit leagues, eg. move teams around, or anything that can corrupt the database.

I changed for Leeds only transfer funds and reputation. That's all!

I have also a similar problem. I played the game with patch 5.0.2 and everything worked fine , then I used the editor and put Club brugge in the english championship is saved it and started without any problem a new game

now i installed update 5.0.5 and start new game => no problem
but when I open my editor en save, the game doesn't want to start a new one, even when I don't change anything in the editor (so I just open and save) I cant start a new game . So I think the problem is somewhere that when you save after editing the files are unusefull to start a new game.

I also looked at the files of the database and after installing the patch (update), 3 files get smaller or bigger , then after editing these files get back to the size without the update , so that is a bit weird? isn't it?
